WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State gymnastics team weathered a competitive Storm team and secured the victory in the home dual.
The Warriors emerged victorious winning with a score of 188.500 to the Storm's 187.425. The Warriors crowned
Gabby Kraft as the event champion on floor, with a slew of Warriors earning top finishes across multiple events.
The vault squad was led by
Irene Kearney with a strong 9.525. Franki Jo MacAskill was close behind with a score of 9.500.
Courtney Knutson tacked on more with 9.450.
Molly Amrhein's 9.40 and
Gabby Kraft's 9.375 helped to round out a competitive Warrior vault squad.
The bars squad was led by
Addison Ward's 9.525 which was good enough to earn Ward the 3rd place finish in the event overall.
Kaylee Bateman was another key contributor with a 9.500.
Jessica Miley tacked on a 9.450.
Ella Denno's 9.425 and
Irene Kearney's 9.400 helped to round out a competitive bars squad.
Gabby Kraft led the way for the Warriors on the beam earning herself a 9.750.
Reagan Kelley's 9.475 helped to push the team forward even more with further aid from
Kaylee Bateman's 9.300. Kaeyln Duman's 8.925 and
Harper Hamilton's 8.775 round out the beam team.
Gabby Kraft again led a very strong floor team with a score of 9.700 not only leading the team but being crowned event champion as well. The hits weren't over yet as
Frankie Jo MacAskill scored a 9.675 and earned the runner-up on the event leaderboard.
Jessica Miley helped round out a Warrior dominant podium with her 9.650 earning the 3rd place finish in the event overall.
Lynley Welshenbaugh's 9.475 and
Lenee Dimkin's 9.225 helped further push a winning Warrior floor team.
The Warriors will be back in action next week as they head to UW-Whitewater to take on the Warhawks on Saturday, February 7th at 4:00pm.
