WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State Gymnastics team put on an impressive showcase of talent against a talented UW-Oshkosh team during their home dual against the Titans.
The Warriors put up their best team score on the year with a score of 191.075, which settles in as the fourth best team score in WSU history. The opposing Titans narrowly edged out the Warriors with a team score of 192.650.
The Warriors had a star-studded lineup across all events with Warriors reaching the podium in every event.
The vault squad was led with an impressive showing from both
Irene Kearney and
Frankie Jo MacAskill's 9.775s. They were followed by a 9.650 from
Gabby Kraft. Madesyn Diskerud and
Courtney Knutson rounded out the lineup with a 9.550 and 9.525 respectively. The vault squad totaled an impressive 48.275, solidifying themselves as a new third best on the WSU all-time top ten.
The bars team had a strong start with the combination of
Addison Ward's 9.650 and
Harper Hamilton's 9.625. Ashley Elizabeth Lynch tacked on further with a 9.600. Kearney's 9.525 and
Jessica Miley's 8.725 rounded out the bars team. The 47.125 from the bars team reaches the new tenth spot on the WSU all-time top ten.
The beam team was led by Kraft's impressive 9.775.
Kaylee Bateman tacked on a strong 9.575, followed by MacAskill's 9.600.
Aspen Peters and
Kaelyn Duman added a 9.350 and 9.175 to round out the team. The beam team's 47.475 sits at the new number nine spot on the WSU all-time top ten.
The floor squad set the tone with a 9.725 from MacAskill, a 9.700 from Kraft, and a 9.625 from
Taylor Magierka.
Lynley Welshenbaugh added a strong 9.600, and
Courtney Knutson added a 9.550 to round out the group. The floor squad's 48.200 ties for ninth on the WSU all-time top ten list.
The Warriors are on the road next week as they make the trek to St. Paul, Minn. to take on Hamline University on Friday, February 20th.
