ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Winona State gymnastics team had a stellar performance in their dual against the Hamline University Pipers.
The Warriors put up an impressive team score of 190.450 to the Piper's 182.500. The Warriors were exceptional in every event, with top podium finishers and event champions in every single event.
The vault squad was led by
Irene Kearney's 9.700, followed by
Frankie Jo MacAskill's 9.575,
Harper Hamilton's 9.500, and
Gabby Kraft's 9.450. Madelyn Diskerud rounded out the line up with a 9.375. The Warriors topped the podium with Kearney as the event champion, followed by MacAskill, and Harper.
The bars line up was led by
Jessica Miley's 9.525. Miley was followed by
Ashley-Elizabeth Lynch's 9.450, Hamilton's 9.350, Kearney's 9.300, and rounded out by
Maddie Reiner's 9.125. Miley topped the podium and was named event champion, followed Lynch and Hamilton.
The beam team was led by
Kaelyn Duman's 9.650. She was followed by Aspen Peter's 9.600, Kraft's 9.575,
Kaylee Bateman's 9.475, and rounded out by MacAskill's 9.325. Duman was the event champion and topped the podium. She was followed by Peters and Kraft on the podium.
The floor crew, put up an impressive 48.500, led by impressive 9.775s from MacAskill and Kraft.
Taylor Magierka tacked on a 9.750, followed by
Lynley Welshenbaugh's 9.675, and rounded out by
Courtney Knutson's 9.525. Kraft and MacAskill tied for the event champion, followed by Magierka and Welshenbaugh on the podium.
The Warriors are on the road next week as they make the trek to La Crosse, Wis. to take on UW-La Crosse, UW-Eau Claire, and Wilberforce on Friday, February 27th.
