Izzy Howe earned NSIC Pitcher of the Week and
Bryn Elsenpeter earned NSIC Player of the Week awards after leading the team to a 4-0 weekend at the Midwest College Classic.
Howe, a Junior from St. Charles, Ill. helped the Warriors softball team to a 4-0 week at the Midwest College classic. Howe went 2-0 with 22 strikeouts in 13.1 innings including two shutouts against Missouri Western State (6-0) and Fort Hays State (11-0). The RHP allowed just four hits and no earned runs and against Missouri Western State, struck out 14 batters improving her record to 6-0 on the season.
Elsenpeter, a Senior from Maple Lake, Minn. led the Warriors offense to a 4-0 weekend. Elsenpeter hit .615 (8-for-13) to lead the Warriors and launched three home runs while driving in six RBIs and recording four multi-hit games. She added 1.385 slugging percentage and a 0.625 on-base percentage and against #23 ranked Pittsburgh State, went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs.
Winona State (13-2, 0-0 NSIC) is in action next on Friday, March 6th as they travel to Florida for spring break to take on the University of Charleston at 10:00am EST.
