ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Winona State baseball won game three of the series against the Huskies, 12-8, in a rainy game that was called in the top of the sixth inning.
WSU fell behind 5-2 after three innings but later cut the deficit to 5-4 with two runs in the fourth. SCSU jumped back to a 7-4 lead with two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. A big six-run inning in the fifth for the Warriors gave them a 10-7 edge.
Connor Weed hit a two-run homer in the top of the sixth, making it 12-8.
The game ended after Weed's home run due to a strong rainfall in the area.

Dylan Harer gave Winona State a 1-0 lead after a solo shot in the first inning.
Easton Arendt later hit a fielder's choice, plating
Hunter Guenther, to make it 2-0. Back-to-back RBI hits from St. Cloud State tied the game at 2-2 after two innings.
A three-spot from the Huskies in the bottom of third put SCSU in front 5-2. WSU gained two runs back in the top of the fourth after a Harer RBI single scored

SCSU grabbed two more runs during the bottom of the fourth to raise their edge to 7-4. WSU stormed back with a massive fifth inning. Weed started the party with a two-RBI single followed by a Harer RBI walk knotting the game at 7-7. The Warriors retook the lead at 8-7 after a passed ball. Arendt drew a walk, scoring
Payton Kohnle, making it 9-7. Harer ended the frame, scoring on a wild pitch, ending the half inning 10-7. St. Cloud State scored one run in the bottom of the fifth to make it 10-8.
Weed hit a two-run home run in the top of the sixth, extending the advantage to 12-8. The game was finalized after his at-bat due to persistent rainfall.
Weed powered the lineup with four RBIs and three hits. Harer and Kirst each added two hits. WSU drew eight walks and stole two bases in the win.
Guenther earned the start, tossing 3.2 innings allowing seven runs (six earned) on eight hits. He punched out four hitters in the no-decision.
Carson Jones went 0.1 innings with
Max Strecker (2-1) getting the win. Strecker threw 1.0 innings, giving up one earned run and tallied two strikeouts.
Winona State (15-19, 10-11 NSIC) travels to Southwest Minnesota State for a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 15 with first pitch scheduled for 1:30pm.
