SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The six-seed WSU baseball team plays the three-seed University of Mary in an elimination game this afternoon with first pitch at 3:30pm at The Birdcage.
Winona State won the NSIC Tournament opener against UMary 6-2 on Thursday, May 6. The Warriors then fell 15-8 to Minnesota State before winning an elimination game 6-3 last night against Minnesota Crookston.
The winner of this matchup will play 45 minutes after this game against the loser of the winner's bracket game between one-seed Augustana and two-seed Minnesota State, which starts at 12:00pm today.

- The Warriors (27-25, 20-16 NSIC) are looking to keep their season alive in a rematch with the Marauders from Thursday's action.
- Winona State entered the 2026 season ranked 10th in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll and finished sixth in the 2026 NSIC standings.
- Head Coach Seth Wing is in his fourth season in the Warrior dugout in 2026 and his 14th year overall as an NCAA baseball coach. Wing holds a 93-109 record in his tenure with WSU.
- Dylan Harer is currently riding a 20-game hit streak with a hit in 23 of his last 24 contests.

- Pederson has been a key contributor behind the plate for Winona State all season. Pederson holds a .320 batting average while starting 39 games behind the plate in 2026.
- Connor Weed has been finding his stride for WSU, helping the lineup with a .318 BA and a strong defensive presence in center field.

- Hunter Guenther (4-2) posts a 4.66 ERA while leading the staff in innings pitched (67.2) and strikeouts (74). Guenther was phenomenal in the 6-3 win over Minnesota Crookston, throwing 8.0 innings, allowing two earned runs with eight punchouts.
- Boyd Skelley leads the squad with 23 appearances on the bump to go with a 4.56 ERA.
- The Warriors pitching staff composes a 5.83 ERA with 377 strikeouts in 404.2 innings pitched.

- The Marauders (36-17, 27-10 NSIC) return to the diamond after winning two elimination games yesterday against Minot State (8-2) and Sioux Falls (7-6).
- UMary came into the 2026 season ranked seventh in the Preseason Coaches' Poll and finished third in the NSIC, earning the three-seed.
- University of Mary has tallied a .310 team batting average, good for second in the NSIC, and a .411 on-base percentage so far in the 2026 campaign.
- Marcus Butts powers the lineup with a .365 BA, a .465 OBP, and 61 hits so far in 2026.
- Isaac Pegros has 17 long balls this season, including two at the NSIC Tournament.
