Crookston, Minn. – Winona State baseball fell 4-3 after six Warrior errors plagued the team in the narrow loss.
WSU entered the seventh inning up 3-2, but after runs from the Golden Eagles in the seventh and eighth inning, WSU was unable to regain control in the series finale loss.

The Warriors offense wasted no time in this one with a leadoff home run from
Payton Kohnle making it 1-0. A solo homer from UMC in the bottom of the first inning tied it right back up 1-1.
After a one-out triple from
Connor Weed in the second frame,
Connor Greuel reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Weed. The Golden Eagles matched the Warriors' run in the bottom of the second, tying the contest 2-2.
Greuel tallied his second RBI of the day after a single in the fourth inning plated Weed, giving WSU the lead back at 3-2. UMC grabbed a run in the seventh and eighth inning to take a 4-3 advantage. Winona State had runners on first and second in the ninth but were unable to muster a run to fall 4-3.
Weed led WSU with three hits, two runs, and two stolen bases on the afternoon. Greuel had two RBI with Kohnle adding a solo homer.
Hunter Guenther earned the start, going 6.0 innings allowing one earned run with seven strikeouts.
Carson Jones (2-1) suffered the loss for the Warriors. He went 1.0 inning allowing an unearned run in the eighth frame.
Winona State (22-22, 17-14 NSIC) enters its final week of the regular season, starting with a road doubleheader against Minnesota Duluth on Tuesday, April 28. First pitch is slated for 1:30pm.
