WINONA, Minn. – The WSU baseball team travels to Sioux Falls, S.D. for the 2026 NSIC Postseason Tournament, playing the University of Mary in the first round on Wednesday, May 6 at 6:00pm.
The 2026 NSIC Baseball Tournament bracket is comprised of the top eight teams in the final regular season standings, who will participate in the double-elimination tournament, which will be held May 6-9 at The Birdcage & Ronken Field in Sioux Falls, South Dakota; co-hosted by the University of Sioux Falls and Augustana University.
The winner of the NSIC Baseball Tournament will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Central Region Tournament. The NCAA Central Region is made up of teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) and the Great American Conference (GAC). Automatic bids are awarded to the tournament champions from each conference with the final five spots awarded on an at-large basis.
Warrior baseball last made the NSIC tournament in 2023 where they went 1-2, including an 8-7 10-inning win over Minot State. WSU has won a NSIC best 21 regular-season titles and three NSIC Postseason titles with the most recent one dating back to 2007.
Winona State dropped three of four games to UMary back on March 28-29 at Loughrey Field. WSU won game three 7-6 in 10 innings on a walk-off run by
Max Pederson.

- The Warriors (25-24, 20-16 NSIC) are coming off a 2-1 series win against Northern State.
- Winona State entered the 2026 season ranked 10th in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll and finished sixth in the 2026 NSIC standings.
- Head Coach Seth Wing is in his fourth season in the Warrior dugout in 2026 and his 14th year overall as an NCAA baseball coach. Wing holds a 91-108 record in his tenure with WSU.
- Dylan Harer is currently riding a 17-game hit streak with a hit in 20 of his last 21 contests. Harer mashed a go-ahead three-run blast in a 6-3 victory over Northern State last weekend.
- On the year, Harer leads WSU in batting average (.342), hits (54), runs (42), RBIs (40), total bases (91), doubles (11), is tied with Adam Wall with eight home runs on the season.
- Pederson has been a key contributor behind the plate for Winona State all season. Pederson holds a .327 batting average while starting 36 games behind the plate in 2026.
- Connor Weed has been finding his stride for WSU, including posting six RBIs in one inning for the Warriors in Saturday's 27-8 rout of Northern State.
- As a team, WSU has a .279 batting average and a .396 on-base percentage through 49 games.
- Sawyer Hoffman (4-2) leads the pitching staff with a 4.82 ERA in 56.0 innings, allowing 68 hits and 30 earned runs across 11 appearances. Hoffman leads the NSIC in strikeouts looking at 26.
- Hunter Guenther (4-2) posts a 4.98 ERA while leading the staff in innings pitched (59.2) and strikeouts (66). Guenther is tied for fourth in the NSIC in strikeouts looking at 22 and is T-sixth for strikeouts with 66.
- Boyd Skelley leads the squad with 21 appearances on the bump to go with a 4.29 ERA.
- The Warriors pitching staff composes a 5.78 ERA, good for fifth in the NSIC, with 354 strikeouts in 378.2 innings pitched.

- The Marauders (34-16, 27-10 NSIC) return to the diamond after winning two of three games against St. Cloud State.
- UMary came into the 2026 season ranked seventh in the Preseason Coaches' Poll and finished third in the NSIC, earning the three-seed.
- University of Mary has tallied a .310 team batting average, good for second in the NSIC, and a .412 on-base percentage so far in the 2026 campaign.
- Marcus Butts powers the lineup with a .364 BA, a .467 OBP, and 56 hits so far in 2026.
- Isaac Pegros is tied for third in the NSIC with 15 long balls.
- The UMary pitching staff posts the third-best ERA in the NSIC at 4.87, holding opponents to a .260 batting average. The Marauders have given up 392 hits while striking out 353 batters in 397.0 innings of work.
- Lucas Burgum (5-3) leads the pitching staff with a 3.18 ERA, good for fifth in the NSIC. Burgum has recorded a NSIC fifth-best 68 strikeouts in 65.0 innings pitched.
