IZZY HOWE COLLECTS NSIC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Winona State softball student-athlete Izzy Howe earned the NSIC Pitcher of the Week award after leading Winona State to a 4-0 record this weekend.

Howe, a Junior pitcher from St. Charles, Ill. pitched two no-hitters against Minnesota State Moorhead and Minnesota Crookston. Howe went 2-0 in three appearances with 25 strikeouts in 16.1 innings and a 1.29 ERA. The Winona State pitcher was able to hold opponents to a .109 batting average while allowing just three earned runs on the week. Howe also struck out 10 batters with only two walks in a five-inning no-hitter win over MSUM and recorded 11 strikeouts in a seven-inning no-hitter vs. UMC.

Howe collected her 18th win of the season on only three losses. The Warriors (48-7, 26-4 NSIC) are in action as the one-seed in the NSIC tournament and will play against the lowest remaining seed after day one on Thursday, May 7th at 12:30pm.
