WINONA, Minn. – Winona State women's soccer suffered a 3-0 defeat against Purdue Northwest on Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened:
Purdue Northwest connected first, scoring in the 16th minute on a strike from Sophia Carbone from outside the box. Less than seven minutes later, Carbone found the back of the net again to give PNW a 2-0 lead.
Winona State was able to record five shots in the first half, with one being on goal, but took. Purdue Northwest's goals came on their only two shots in the first half.
The Lions added a third goal of the game in the 58th minute to extend their lead to 3-0. The Warriors were unable to find anything offensively down the stretch and suffered the 3-0 defeat.

Winona State now turns their attention to NSIC play as they host Jamestown and Northern State on September 11th and 13th, with both games being played at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium in Winona, Minn.
