WINONA, Minn. – Freshman Justine Daane pulled out victories in both doubles and singles play but the Winona State tennis team fell to Carleton 6-3 Sunday afternoon in Winona.
Daane, playing No. 3 singles, defeated Carleton's Claire Spencer with a come-from-behind three-set, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 victory. Daane also teamed with senior Leah Dahl to pick up a victory at No. 2 singles, posting an 8-6 victory.
The Warriors also were victorious at No. 1 doubles, with the tandem of Aimee Basinski and Brianna Havelka picking up an 8-4 victory.
Winona State is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 14 when it hosts a pair of NSIC-opening matches against Bemidji state and Minnesota Crookston at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
