MENOMONIE, Wis. – The Winona State gymnastics team turned in a fantastic overall performance Saturday night, recording the second-best team score in program history against Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wis.

The Warriors took down the Blue Devils 189.025 to 188.325. It was the best score WSU has recorded in more than a decade, with the previous record set at the Midwest Championships on Mar. 23, 2002. The mark surpassed the previous second-best mark of 188.500 set on Mar. 21, 1997 in a match against Air Force.

Winona State broke the team record in the vault, scoring a team record 47.425. The score broke the previous mark set earlier this year at the Gershon Invitational.
Emily Goldeman took second in the event with a 9.625, the best score in her Warrior career.
Jade Donaldson took third place with a 9.600.

The marks in the uneven bars and floor exercise both went down as the sixth-best team scores in program history as well.

WSU's score of 46.700 in the uneven bars tied the previous sixth-best mark exactly two years ago in a match against Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Kathryn Pipp and
Olivia Cattelino tied for first in the event with a 9.625. Cattelino's score tied her career-best.

Winona State scored a 48.075 in the floor exercise, which was the highest mark the Warriors had set since 2003 in that event.
Brooke Hiestand set a new career-best with a score of 9.775, breaking her previous best of 9.675. WSU also had two others in a three-way tie for second, with
Veronica Peterson putting up a career-best 9.625, along with Donaldson as well.

Katie Carling had a strong performance in the balance beam, taking first place with a career-best 9.650.
Cassidy Kleven took third with a 9.525 in the beam.

The Warriors will return home for their final home meet of the season, as they will take on Wisconsin-La Crosse on Mar. 5 in McCown Gym.
