LA CROSSE, Wis. – Senior
Jordan Skelly was already WSU's record holder in the 3000-meter steeplechase, but that didn't stop her from breaking her own record.
Skelly shattered her previous steeplechase record at the Ashton May Invitational on Friday. Skelly's 10:46.47 time beat her previous record by more than 12 seconds and also provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship.
Sophomore
Megan Seidl had a huge day as well, making her mark in two events on WSU's all-time list. Seidl finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.33, setting the seventh-best mark in program history. She also finished second in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 59:03, setting the ninth-best mark in WSU history.
Her teammate Brittney Schyvinck finished right behind her in third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.19.
Hailey Deschaine came away with a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 12:59.
Katie Bagley also came away with third-place with a 2:17.42 finish time in the 800-meter dash.
The next meet for the Winona State track and field team will be at the UNK Loper Invitational on Saturday in Kearney, Neb.
