No. 25 Warrior Soccer Falls To St. Cloud State 1-0

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The No. 25 Winona State soccer team was shut out for the second straight game, falling to St. Cloud State 1-0 on the road Saturday afternoon in St. Cloud.

The Warriors and Huskies were in a scoreless battle for the majority of the game, but a late goal gave SCSU the 1-0 win when St. Cloud State's Alexis Starr scored in the 84th minute to provide the only scoring of the game.

WSU managed a season-low nine shots in the game, with four landing on goal. Mehan Bolton, Nicole Sames and Hannah Burt each had two shots, while Bolton, Sames, Abby Bohanski and Meg Riebau posted a shot on goal.

The Winona State defense was stout as usual, holding the Huskies to just six shots and five shots on goal. WSU goalkeeper Rachel Oleson made four saves while giving up the lone goal.

Winona State (5-2, 2-2 NSIC) is back in action Sunday with a 1 p.m. matchup at Minnesota Duluth.
