MARSHALL, Minn. – Senior Katya Hoffman claimed medalist honors and the Winona State women's golf team took home a tie for fourth place at the 11-team Mustang Invite hosted by Southwest Minnesota State at Marshall Golf Club.

Hoffman used consecutive rounds of 76 to top the leaderboard and finish with a two-round total of an eight-over 152 for the tournament. Her final round 76 was two strokes better than the next best golfer.

The Warriors finished as a team in a tie for fourth with host SMSU with a two-round total of 657 (+81). Minnesota State won the invite with a score of 650 (+74), followed by Upper Iowa (651) and St. Cloud State (654).

Junior Marissa Geyer followed up a first round 80 with a final round 85 to finish in a tie for 14^th, while freshman Jessica Blanchard improved her first round 87 with a final round 82 to finish in a tie for 26^th.

Madelyn Miller finished 39^th for the Warriors, and Courtney Bergum finished in a tie for 40^th.

Winona State concludes the fall portion of its season with the first two rounds of the NSIC Championship on Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11, in Brainerd, Minn.
