ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Winona State women's golf team ended round one of the NCAA DII Central Regional in 16th place.
After the first round, Winona State currently sits in 16th place with a team score of 331 (+43) and sits directly behind the Wayne State Wildcats who has a team score of 328 (+40). Augustana is right behind the Warriors with a team score of 332 (+44).
Leading the way for the Warriors is
Georgia Volley who is currently tied for 60th place with a round one score of 82 (+10). Volley was able to shoot a 43 (+7) on the front nine and a 39 (+3) on the back nine maintaining an 82 scorecard.
Next up for WSU was
Lindsey Lund,
Maeve McDougal, and
Megan Young who all shot an 83 (+11) in their round one cards putting them all tied for 66th place individually. Rounding out the Warrior's starting lineup is
Kessa Mara who finished with a score of 94 (+22). The Warriors look to bounce back in round two to make a push for top five placement.
Winona State is scheduled to begin round two of the NCAA DII Central Regional Tournament tomorrow, May 5th.
