WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State tennis team opened its season with an 8-1 home loss to Carleton Sunday afternoon at the Winona Tennis Center.
The Warriors picked up their lone victory at No. 1 doubles in a back-and-forth affair, as the sophomore tandem of Justine Daane and newcomer Rachel Gantz picked up a tiebreak victory over the Knights' Grace Davis and Mikayla Becich.
The Warriors are back in action on February 12 and 13 when it travels to Grand Forks, North Dakota to take on Bemidji State at 3:30 p.m. Friday and Minnesota Crookston at 8 a.m. Saturday.
