WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State tennis team ended its season on a high note, picking up a 6-3 victory over St. Norbert College Saturday afternoon at Winona Tennis Center.
The Warriors earned victories in the heart of their singles lineup and its top two doubles tandems to earn the 6-3 win.
Justine Daane and Rachel Gantz earned an 8-6 victory and No. 1 singles while Hattie Scott and Katie Scruggs earned an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles.
Gantz cruised to a 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles as well, while Scruggs battled back to win a tight 4-6, 6-4, 12-10 win at No. 3 singles. Scott also battled back from a big loss in the first set to claim a 1-6, 6-3, 10-6 win at No. 4 singles. Finally, Keara Thiele picked up a win with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 score.
