COON RAPIDS, Minn. – The Winona State women's golf team turned in a strong pair of rounds to take home a fourth place finish out of 10 teams at the Minnesota State Invitational at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn.
The Warriors shot a 663 (338-325) to finish in fourth at +87, 10 shots back of St. Cloud State for third and 20 shots up on Sioux Falls for fifth. The host Mavericks won the invite at +50, while Gustavus Adolphus was second at +55.
Senior Katya Hoffman shot a solid final round 77 after an opening round 81 to finish in fifth place and +14 for the invite. Junior Marissa Geyer also fired a strong final round 78 to better a first round 86 and finish in a tie for 14th.
Jessica Blanchard (82-89) tied for 30th, Courtney Terrill (89-86) finished tied for 38th and Courtney Bergum (95-84) ended tied for 49th.
Winona State now prepares for the NSIC Spring Championship on Saturday and Sunday at Dakotah Ridge Golf Course in Morton, Minn. The Warriors currently sit 6th out of 12 teams after the fall portion of the NSIC Championship.
