MORTON, Minn. – The Winona State women's golf team finished up the final round of the NSIC Championship with a fifth place finish Sunday at Dacotah Ridge Golf Course in Morton, Minn.
The Warriors, who owned a slim one-shot lead over both St. Cloud State and Upper Iowa for fifth place entering Sunday's final round, created separation over the two teams to top SCSU by five strokes and UIU by 10.
Augustana won the NSIC Championship finishing +93, with Concordia-St. Paul finishing second at +156, Minnesota State third at +175, SMSU fourth at +195 and the Warriors fifth at +211.
Jessica Blanchard led the Warriors with a strong final round 81 as the freshman finished the tournament tied for 24th. Katya Hoffman shot a final round 86 to finish tied for 11th, while Courtney Bergum finished tied for 18th after a final round 87 and Marissa Geyer's final round 86 placed her in a tie for 20th. Madelyn Miller concluded the championship in 35th.
