WINONA, Minn. – Winona State had great day on the track; winning three events and setting a few top-ten marks in program history. In all the Warriors had 19 top-five finishes.
Hope Willenbrink and
Anna Rogahn went one, two in the 1000 meters. Willenbrink won the event in a time of 3:00.65, just .05 behind her school record time. Rogahn was not too far behind; she ran a 3:02.93 on the afternoon. Her time will move in to second on the Warriors top-ten list.
Tamika Tucker finished just better than teammate
Amanda Schaefer in the triple jump as the Warriors claimed the top two spots. Tucker won the event with a jump of 11.31 meters/37'1.25'' feet, a new personal best. Schaefer finished the night with a jump of 11.24 meters/36'10.5'' feet and a personal best as well.
Megan Seidl nearly broke 25 seconds in the 200 meters, taking second in a time of 25.05 seconds.
Kathleen Taylor led a group of four Warriors who had NCAA provisional marks in the shot put. Taylor threw a 14.05 meters/46'1.25'' feet to finish second.
Kaitlyn Long was third while
Heather Buckler took fifth and
Breanna Perron took sixth.
Amanda Kaiser was one of three Warriors to finish in the top-four in the mile. Kaiser's time of 5:13.87, seventh all-time, was good enough for second place.
Olivia Anger and
Nikki Staffen followed her in order.
Fixen had another top-four finish when she ran the 60-meter hurdles in 9.19 seconds to take fourth.
Brittany Schyvinck was second in the 400 meters, running a time of 58.86 seconds.
Hailey Deschaine jumped a NCAA provisional mark of 5.57 meters/18'3.25'' feet to take second place in the long jump.
The Warriors 4x400 meter relay team of
Ali Skluzacek,
Alexandra Hutchison, Schyvinck and Seidl won with a time of 3:59.98. They were the only relay team to break the four-minute mark on Saturday.
Haley Reinke and
Amanda Schaefer tied for fourth in the high jump by getting over the bar at a height of 1.59 meters/5'2.50'' feet.
Kari Schneiss took fifth in the 600 meters; crossing the line in 1:43.06.
Ali Johnson ran fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:20.31.
Next up for the Warriors is the Wartburg select on Feb. 2-3 in Waverly, Iowa.
