Warriors Keep Rolling With 8-1 Victory

WINONA, Minn. – Winona State (4-0) stayed undefeated on the year with an 8-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State (2-5). The Warriors won all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches.
 
Rachel Gantz and Kaisey Skibba won 8-5 in the number one spot in doubles. Katie Scruggs and Justine Daane won 8-2 from the two spot. Tayla Card and Kendra Kappes won the third doubles match 8-2.
 
In singles matches the Warriors got wins from Gantz, Kappes, Card, Scruggs and Lauren Willkom. Kappes won her singles match without dropping a game from the third spot in the lineup. Gantz won 6-1, 6-2 and Card won 6-1, 6-3.
 
Winona State will be on the road for the first time next week when they take on Minnesota Duluth in St. Cloud on Saturday. The following day they will battle St. Cloud State at 9 a.m. in their first true road match of the year.
