BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Kaitlyn Long finished second in the weight throw on Thursday at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships. The second place finish means Long is now a three-time All-American in the weight throw.
Long's first throw of the day of 21.22/67-2.25 feet meters was good enough to hold up until the fifth round of the weight throw. In the fifth round, Tynelle Gumbs of Findlay was able to edge her with a throw of 21.41 meters/70-3.00 feet.
Megan Seidl ran her 400 meters in a time of 55.97 seconds. She took third in her heat and despite not making finals, ran the 12
th fastest time on Thursday. She entered the race with the 13
th fastest time in the country this season.
