FARGO, N. D. – Winona State (11-6, 8-3 NSIC) secured the three seed in the NSIC Tournament after beating Mary 9-0 on Sunday. The Warriors will play Bemidji State in the first round of the NSIC Tournament on April 22 in Minnetonka.
Winona State got an 8-2 win from
Kendra Kappes and
Rachel Gantz to start the match. The doubles teams of
Justine Daane/
Kaisey Skibba and
Tayla Card/
Katie Scruggs each won their matches 8-5.
Five of the six singles matches were won in straight sets. Card did not lose a game, winning 6-0, 6-0. Kappes finished the NSIC season without a loss, winning 6-0, 6-2 in the final match of the year.
Winona State wraps up the season April 13 when they host Luther at 4:30 p.m.
