WINONA, Minn. – Winona State University picked up two more wins this weekend, improving to 6-0 in conference play this season. The Warriors defeated St. Cloud State on Saturday, 7-2, and kept their undefeated streak going Sunday with a 6-3 win over Minnesota Duluth.
Winona State swept St. Cloud in doubles action to begin its dominant weekend. The Warriors went on to win at singles three through six to complete their team win.
Justine Daane was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at singles three. Kendra Kappes and Kali Hackmann each earned 6-1, 6-0 wins in singles play. Tayla Card put the finishing touches on the Huskies with a 6-3, 6-3 win at singles six.
Kappes and Rachel Gantz (doubles #2) and the duo of Card/Hackmann (doubles #3) both recorded team wins against Duluth.
Kappes kept her perfect season record intact with a 7-6, 6-2 win at singles four. Gantz was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at singles two. Hackmann and Card complete the Winona team victory with wins in their respective singles matches.
The Warriors (6-0) will travel to Orlando, Florida over spring break for four matches next week.
