WINONA, Minn. – Winona State University head women's basketball coach Scott Ballard has announced the addition of one more student-athlete to the Warriors' 2019 recruiting class. Abby Callahan of Marist High School will join the Warriors in the fall for the 2019-20 campaign.
"We are excited to add a high-character individual with a great work ethic such as Abby to our recruiting class," Ballard said. "She has a versatile skill set and competitive toughness that will translate to success for our program in the future."
Callahan is a 5-9 guard from Marist High School in Chicago, Illinois where she excelled as a two-sport athlete in basketball and volleyball. She was named All-Conference and First Team All-Area along with being a team captain as she averaged 12 points and nine rebounds per game as a senior.
Callahan joins early signees Alex Dornfeld (Markesan, Wis.), Caitlin Riley (Cedar Rapids, Iowa), Ava Sergio (Geneva, Ill.) and Taylor Fautsch (Rochester, Minn.) in next year's recruiting class.
