WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University volleyball team returns to the road for a NSIC weekend, taking on the University of Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State University on Friday, Oct. 7 and Saturday, Oct. 8
The Warriors and Bulldogs will start at 6 p.m. on Friday, while Saturday's match against the Huskies will begin at 2 p.m.
Winona State currently owns a 9-7 overall record and 5-4 NSIC slate following a string of five victories in a row, dating back to Sept. 23 when WSU swept Minot State, 3-0.

WINONA STATE STORYLINES
- WSU heads into a key NSIC weekend on a five-match NSIC winning streak.
- Winona State has won four of their five most recent wins by 3-0 scorelines.
- Winona State had a season-high 104 digs in their Tuesday match vs. Upper Iowa, a 3-1 Warrior win.
- Madison Larson leads WSU with a 3.55 kills/set mark, and teammate Sidney Paulson is close behind at 3.25.
- Casey Volkmann leads the Warriors in digs/set at 4.25 and Mikenna Joerger averages 1.21 blocks/set.
- WSU has won the last two meetings with the Bulldogs, including a 3-1 Warrior win at home on Oct. 8, 2021 most recently

- Minnesota Duluth heads into the weekend at 16-1 overall and 8-1 in the NSIC.
- The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 6 in the country.
- UMD has won three straight, all on the road.
- The Bulldogs last loss was to No. 1 Wayne State College on Saturday, Sept. 24.
- Minnesota Duluth defeated St. Cloud State last Tuesday, 3-2.
- Cianna Selbitschka leads the Bulldogs with a 3.15 kills/set average.
- Grace Daak is the top Minnesota Duluth defensive player at the net at 1.11 block/set.
- Jim Boos has been the head coach of the Bulldogs since 2002.
St. Cloud State STORYLINES
- St. Cloud State enters the NSIC weekend at 14-3 overall and 6-3 in the NSIC.
- The No. 7 Huskies are 7-2 in home matches but have lost two straight.
- On Tueday, SCSU stretched No. 6 UMD to five sets, but lost 3-2.
- Offensively, the Huskies are led by Kenzie Foley at 4.18 kills/set.
- Phebie Rossi is averaging 1.23 blocks/set for SCSU
- St. Cloud State will face Upper Iowa on Friday before facing the Warriors on Saturday.
- Chad Braegelmann is in his 22nd season as head coach at SCSU.
WARRIOR NOTABLES
- Winona State will be looking to extend their winning streak to six consecutive wins in NSIC play.
- WSU last played back-to-back nationally ranked teams on Sept. 16-17, when they faced Augustana & Wayne State College.
- The NSIC has five teams in the AVCA Top 25 this week, all inside the top eight, including No. 1 Wayne State College.
