BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The road west to the Sanford Pentagon and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) women's basketball postseason will begin with a northern detour for Winona State and head coach
Scott Ballard, as WSU will play at Bemidji State in the competition's first round, as announced today.
The Warriors (12-14, 9-13 NSIC) will take on the Beavers (13-12, 11-10 NSIC) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23 in Bemidji, Minn. The winner of the first-round match up will advance to the 2021-22 NSIC Tournament quarterfinals held at the Pentagon, where Concordia - St. Paul awaits, having earned a first-round bye.
WSU and BSU have played once already this season, with Bemidji State defeating Winona State, 75-60 on January 7 in BSU Gymnasium. The last time the two teams faced off in the postseason was Feb. 23, 2016, when the top-seeded Warriors hosted Bemidji State and beat the Beavers, 74-64.

About the NSIC Tournament:
The first round of the tournament is set for Wednesday, February 23 on the campuses of the higher seeds in each match-up*. The quarterfinals, semifinals and championship will take place on February 26 to March 1 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. All rounds of the NSIC/Sanford Health Women's Basketball Tournament played at the Sanford Pentagon will be aired live on Midco Sports and all games will be streamed for free on the NSIC Network.
