Warrior Game Day: Baseball

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University baseball team will host Minot State for the finale of a three-game series today, March 28. First pitch is scheduled for noon at Loughrey Field.

The two teams each earned a win in yesterday's doubleheader. Game one featured a tightly contested pitcher's duel through the majority of the game, before Winona State's bats came alive in the sixth inning to score three runs and earn a 4-3 victory. Nicolas Herold started on the mound for WSU and pitched 6.0 innings, striking out nine, and allowing just three runs on six hits to earn the win.

During the second game, Minot State was able to make a dent in the scoring column in four different innings en route to handing Winona State a 7-1 loss. Carter Brinkman hit a solo shot over the right field fence in the bottom of the ninth for WSU to bring across their lone run.

The Warriors will look to win game three today and clinch the series at home over the Beavers.
