WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University baseball team will host Bemidji State University today, April 13 with a doubleheader slated to start at 1:30 p.m. in the cozy confines of Loughrey Field.
The two teams last faced off in a twin bill on March 24, 2021, a doubleheader which was swept by the Warriors, by 10-0 and 5-2 scorelines. Winona State has won ten straight over BSU and the two teams have played exclusively in Loughrey Field since 2015. On Wednesday, Winona State will be the visiting team and bat first, due to NSIC site-reversal rules.
Bemidji State is coming off a 1-4 effort across five games last week, claiming victory in a 7-2 win against the University of Sioux Falls. The Warriors enter Wednesday's doubleheader with a 7-14 overall record and a 5-5 mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Winona State dropped two of their most recent contests in a three-game series at Minnesota Duluth on April 10-11. WSU won Sunday's contest, 6-3, before a doubleheader sweep Monday in Duluth, Minn. in which they dropped both games by 5-4 and 6-4 scorelines, respectively.
