WINONA, Minn. – Winona State University and the Winona State University Foundation hosted GAMEDAY on Thursday, April 28 as a fundraiser for Winona State University Athletics.
Over 270 donors made the inaugural giving day a success through donations totaling $59,191. "I am extremely excited that the partnership between the foundation and the athletics department proved to be fruitful in our first attempt at GAMEDAY," commented Jon Olson, Vice President of University Advancement. "This is a great starting point and will grow in the future with the help from our notable alumni, fans, and friends."
WSU athletic director Eric Schoh said "A huge thank you to all our generous donors, some who have been supporting us for a long time, as well as the many new donors who participated. We also appreciate the partnership and support of the WSU Foundation in making this happen."
Warrior Athletics was proud to partner with the Winona State University Foundation to help generate awareness for the 24-hour event, which benefited student-athletes on all 15 Warrior programs. The generous gifts made by alumni, student-athletes, parents, staff, faculty, and friends of the University will supplement the budget of each program for competition travel, new training equipment, updated team uniforms, and other necessary expenses.
Warrior Athletics is grateful for the support of its student-athletes and athletic programs through GAMEDAY. If you were unable to make a gift on GAMEDAY, you can still do so at the WSU Foundation webpage.
