WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University women's soccer team returns to Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium for a three-match home stand beginning with a match against the University of Minnesota Duluth on Thursday, Oct. 26.  The Bulldogs and Warriors will kick off at 5 p.m. on Maxwell Field.

Winona State will be looking to close out the season taking maximum points from their final three NSIC contests.  WSU is coming off a 0-1-1 NSIC weekend, earned a shutout draw at Minot State on Friday, Oct. 20 and a 2-0 loss to UMary on Sunday, Oct. 22. UMD has gone 4-0-1 over the last five matches. 

WINONA STATE STORYLINES 

WSU heads into the match with a 2-7-5 overall record and 1-6-4 NSIC mark.

Winona State has earned NSIC points in every match they have scored two goals or more. 

The same two-goal tally stands true in the 2022 season; WSU scored two or more goals in all but one of their 2022 victories. 
 
Johanna Shubert leads with in goals (4), points (8) and is second on the squad in shots (30). 

Reanne Weil is the top performer in total shots for WSU with 32.

Abigail Williams is second on the team in points (7) and goals (3). 

Five Warrior field players, Callie Menzel, Reanne Weil and Hannah Dunlavy, Madyson Dye, Madelynn Drasher and Quinn Williams have eclipsed the 1,000 minute played mark this season. 

Goalkeeper Alyson Jumper has been a part of five shutouts this season, including four in which she went the full 90. 

WSU returns a trio of key attacking players who factored heavily in goal production last fall; Reanne WeilMadelynn Drasher, and Abigail Williams look to lead the Warriors.

Winona State was picked tenth in the NSIC Coaches poll  

Head coach Jill Leibforth is in her first year as head coach at Winona State.  

WSU assistant coach Joe Davis will join for his second year as an assistant coach and first year under Jill Leibforth

Ben Davis trains the WSU goalkeeping corps. 

Minnesota Duluth STORYLINES

Minnesota Duluth is 6-5-5 overall and 5-3-4 in NSIC play.
UMD has won their past two matches. 
Jackie Jares has 20 points on 8 goals and 4 assists this season. 
Anna Tobias has five goals for UMD, as well as two assists. 
Jennifer Norris has 15 starts in goal for the Bulldogs and has given up 22 goals on the year. 
Greg Cane has been the head coach at UMD since 1994.
