Warrior Senior Game Day : Soccer

WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University women's soccer team will kick off Senior Day in Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29 in a match against St Cloud State University.

Winona State will be looking notch an upset on Senior Day, hosting the league-leading Huskies in their last weekend fixture of the 2023 campaign. WSU will honor seniors Sara Charboneau, Morgan Liebau, Caylee Ludwig, Madyson Dye, Hannah Dunlavy, and Reanne Weil
 

WINONA STATE STORYLINES 

WSU heads into the match with a 2-7-6 overall record and 1-6-5 NSIC mark.

Winona State has earned NSIC points in every match in which they have scored two goals or more. 

The same two-goal tally stands true in the 2022 season; WSU scored two or more goals in all but one of their 2022 victories. 
 
Johanna Shubert leads WSU in goals (5), points (11) and is second on the squad in shots (31). 

Reanne Weil is the top performer in total shots for WSU with 33, putting 15 on frame.

Abigail Williams is second on the team in points (7) and goals (3). 

Five Warrior field players, Callie MenzelReanne WeilHannah DunlavyMadyson DyeMadelynn Drasher and Quinn Williams have eclipsed the 1,000 minute played mark this season. 

Goalkeeper Alyson Jumper has been a part of five shutouts this season, including four in which she went the full 90. 

Freshman goalkeeper Anna Lundeen backstopped Winona State to a 3-3 draw on Thursday against Minnesota Duluth in her first collegiate start.

WSU returns a trio of key attacking players who factored heavily in goal production last fall; Reanne WeilMadelynn Drasher, and Abigail Williams look to lead the Warriors.

Winona State was picked tenth in the NSIC Coaches poll.  

Head coach Jill Leibforth is in her first year as head coach at Winona State.  

WSU assistant coach Joe Davis will join for his second year as an assistant coach and first year under Jill Leibforth

Ben Davis trains the WSU goalkeeping corps. 

St. Cloud State STORYLINES

Minnesota Duluth is 12-3-1 overall and 9-2-1 in NSIC play.
SCSU lost their last time out, falling to Southwest Minnesota State 1-0 at home. 
The Huskies have won 8 of the most recent 10 matches, along with one draw and the loss to SMSU.
Linsey Trapino has 14 points on 6 goals and 2 assists this season. 
Gracie Parsons has three goals and three assists for SCSU.
Jaylee Stricklan has 15 starts in goal for the Bulldogs and has given up 12 goals on the year. 
Gretta Macdonald has been the head coach at SCSU for the past nine seasons.
