WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University football team plays at home for the first time in two weeks on Saturday, Nov. 4, hosting Minnesota State for a 1 p.m. kickoff against the Mavericks in Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium.

Brian Bergstrom are looking to earn an upset of the Mavericks, as Minnesota State comes in ranked No. 10 in the country. WSU is coming off a narrow 20-17 defeat last week at MSU Moorhead while the Mavericks beat Southwest Minnesota State, 30-12.
Winona State – Minnesota State Notables
- Saturday's contest is the 52nd time the two schools have met. The Mavericks dealt Winona State a 40-13 setback last season in Mankato.
- The WSU - MSU series has seen the Mavericks win at Winona 20 times, while losing on 10 occasions to the Warriors when WSU was the home team.
- Winona State is led in scoring by placekicker Jacob Scott. Scott has 57 total points this year, leading the team (10 FG's, 27-of-27 in PATs).
- Last week WSU saw Sylvere Campbell turn in a solid performance with seven receptions and 81 yards overall
- Winona State's QB Cole Stenstrom was 18-of-34 with 202 passing yards with a TD and 29 yards rushing vs. MSUM.
- Winona State has an impressive performer in tackles within the NSIC, with Clay Schueffner ranking in the Top 5 of most league tackling stats.

- On Saturday, Winona State will their third nationally ranked opponent of the season. WSU previously played Augustana and Bemidji State, both teams in the D2 Top 25.

Minnesota State - Moorhead beat Southwest Minnesota State 34-17 last week in Marshall, Minn.
MSU QB Hyden Ekern has1,833 yards and 18 scores.
The top Maverick wideout is TreShawn Watson, who leads MSU r with 370 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Additionally, freshman Mason Perich has 260 yards and four touchdowns as the second-best MSU receiver.
Minnesota State's defense has allowed just under 20 points and 326 yards rushing to their opponents.
