Box Score WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University tennis team made quick work of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) foe Upper Iowa University on Saturday, Feb. 4, sweeping the Peacocks 7-0 at the Winona Tennis Center.
Winona State earned wins at all levels of play, staring the afternoon with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, as well as a default by Upper Iowa at the No. 3 doubles slot.
In singles action, after a UIU default at the No. 6 singles, WSU won at No. 5 singles with
Clara Thoemke defeating UIU's Katie O'Brien, 6-0, 6-0. Winona State's
Sara Anderson beat Upper Iowa's Johanne Valle, 6-2, 6-0 to seal the Warrior team win at No. 3 singles..

Miranda Daulong beat the Peacock's Elaina Wall at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-0, while Warrior
Rachel Kelly defeated UIU's Rafaela Quieroga Tavares, 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 2 single slot.
Beth Murman wrapped up the sweep for Winona State at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Varvara Ogorodnikova.
Winona State is next in action against Iowa Central Community College on Sunday, Feb. 5 at the Winona Tennis Center.
