BURNSVILLE, Minn. –
Lindsay Cunningham has earned NSIC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week after a record-setting performance in California over the weekend.
Cunningham, a junior from Wisconsin Dells, Wis., set a new Winona State all-time best mark in the 10K run, turning in a time of 32:43.64 at the Mt. Sac Relays at Mt. San Antonio College.
In addition to setting the fastest Warrior time ever in the event, Cunningham's mark is also the third-fastest time ever in the in NCAA Division II ranks. Cunningham finished second overall in the Elite Division of the race and was the fastest collegiate runner.
Cunningham's school record in California was one of three WSU all-time marks set over the weekend.
Shereen Vallabouy ran a 51.80 in the 400 meter race, beating her own WSU record in the process and establishing a new all-time Winona State mark.
Kaylee Beyer established a new top time in the 800 meters; Beyer's best-ever time of 2:09.72 came as a part of the Bryan Clay Invitational, a multi-day event featuring some of the top talent in NCAA Division II track & field
The Warriors will next be in action at the 'Running on Hope' Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota on Wednesday, April 19.
