WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University soccer team wraps up the back half of an NSIC weekend on the road, squaring off with Minnesota State Moorhead on Sunday, Sep. 24 at noon.
Winona State (1-3-2, 0-2-1 NSIC) will be looking to break into the league win column against MSU Moorhead (1-5-1, 0-2-1 NSIC) as the teams take the pitch on Nemzek Soccer Field.
The Warriors fell 2-1 on the road at Northern State on Friday, while the Dragons were dealt a 2-0 loss by Concordia University, St. Paul at home on Friday as well.

WINONA STATE STORYLINES
Winona State owns a 13-1 mark over the Dragons, dating back to Sep. 20, 2008
The Warriors shutout MSU Moorhead at home last year, slaying the Dragons 3-0.

Winona State was picked tenth in the NSIC Coaches poll
Head coach Jill Leibforth is in her first year as head coach at Winona State.
Winona State will play their first seven matches on the road to open 2023.
WSU assistant coach Joe Davis will join for his second year as an assistant coach and first year under Jill Leibforth.
MSU Moorhead STORYLINES
Minnesota State Moorhead has amassed a 1-5-1 overall mark and 0-2-1 record in the NSIC
The Dragon's only win over Winona State was at home vs. WSU on Oct. 22, 2021.
In their upset of WSU two years ago, the Dragons had a 15-7 shot deficet but scored the games only goal just after halftime.
MSU Moorhead played three exhibition contests to open their 2023 season.
Three Dragons have one goal each on the year; Blayke Hurley, Jensen Seidel and Allison Tharp.
In goal, MSU has used three different GK's; Quinn Carter, Simone Lewald and Morgan Valvo.
Lewald has seen the most action as a goalkeeper, making five starts and racking up 35 saves.
