WINONA, Minn. – After returning a punt for a touchdown in Winona State's win against Bemidji State, Ty Johnson was named the D2Football.com and NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week.
 
Johnson earned the awards after returning a 64-yard touchdown punt return for a touchdown on the first punt of the second half to give WSU a 21-14 lead. He had 160 yards on five punt returns, including a touchdown in a 31-28 win over BSU, and picked up 49 yards on a punt return with 53 seconds left in the first half to set up a Winona State touchdown. Johnson averaged 32 yards per return for the game.
 
Winona State is next in action on Saturday, Nov. 2nd when they face off against Minnesota Duluth at home.
