WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State volleyball team earned a dominating 3-0 win over Bemidji State in their penultimate home match of the regular season.
The Warriors, who honored their parents before the match, jumped out to a commanding first set victory and controlled the rest of the night to earn the 25-13, 25-17, 25-17 sweep over the Beavers.
Set One:
Winona State tallied a quick 5-2 lead, but BSU then went on a 5-0 run to lead by two. The Warriors gathered it together and dominated the end of the first set, with
Lydia Lange capping it off with a kill to give WSU the 25-13 set victory.
Set Two:
It was all Winona State from the get-go as they forced Bemidji State into six attack errors and four services errors, while WSU hit .370 in the set to win 25-17.
Set Three:
The Warriors began the set on a 10-2 run to force a BSU timeout. The Beavers clawed their way back into the set, narrowing the WSU lead to just 18-16 but Winona State was able to close out the set 25-17 and take the match 3-0.
