Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 OWATONNA, Minn.- The Winona State University tennis team was dealt a pair of setbacks in the opening Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) weekend for the Warriors. 

Playing at the Owatonna Indoor Tennis Center, Winona State lost to the University of Mary on Saturday, February 17, by a 6-1 scoreline and battled back in a tough effort against Minnesota State Moorhead on Sunday, eventually falling 4-3. 

Against the Marauders on Saturday, Ally Burger earned the lone Winona State singles win at the No. 6 slot, defeating Luba Moyo 6-1, 6-3.  UMary claimed two of the three doubles points, but Ally Burger and Elysia Beyon earned a hard-fought 7-5 victory over UMary's Emily Needham and Luba Moyo.

An inspired Winona State squad took on Minnesota State Moorhead on Sunday, with a tightly contested match going the way of the Dragons, 4-3.  The doubles point decided the NSIC contest, with MSUM and WSU splitting singles play evenly 3-3.
