DAVENPORT, Fla.- The Winona State University baseball team is set to travel down to Davenport, Fla. to open the Warrior 2024 spring break trip. WSU will play in 6 games starting on Saturday, March 2 and wrapping up with their final game on Tuesday, March 5.
The Warriors are going into the Spring games with only one four-game series so far this season under their collective belt. Florida will provide WSU with six different opponents, a slate that features some familiar faces for WSU and programs new to the Warrior schedule.
The 2024 Winona State baseball team was predicted to finish sixth in the 2024 NSIC Baseball Preseason Coaches' Poll; Austin Beyer and Peter Tveite were selected as the Preseason Warrior Player to Watch and Warrior Pitcher to Watch.

The Warriors are 0-4 overall, 0-0 NSIC.
Winona State's only opponent this season was Missouri S&T in a four-game weekend series.
Joshua Hawksford leads the team in batting average (.500) and on base percentage (.500).
Cole Fuecker leads the team with the lone home run on the year as well as leading the team in hits with 5.
Seth Wing goes into the Spring games with 29 wins as the Warriors head coach.
Spring Games: Opponent Storylines
Ashland University, Northwood University, Thomas More University, and Notre Dame College are all new faces to the Winona State baseball team, while Seton Hill University (PA) and Davis & Elkins College are familiar foes of the Warriors.
Ashland University started the season with a weekend series sweep against Concord, going 3-0. Before the Warriors face off against the Eagles, they face off against Minnesota State Mankato to start off their Florida trip.
Seton Hill University is one of the familiar opponents for the Warriors, with Winona State holding a 1-3 record against the Griffons. So far Seton Hill holds a 4-3 record on the season with their first game in Florida coming against the Warriors.
Northwood University has played six games before their trip to Florida for the Russmatt Invitational play three games each against Maryville (Mo.) and Motevallo. Northwood came up short facing off against both teams starting 0-6 on the year.
Davis & Elkins College started off the year with five games, three against King University (Tenn.) and a single double header with West Virginia University Institute of Technology. Davis & Elkins would eventually fall to both teams starting their season 0-5. Winona State faced off against the Senators last year at the Russmatt Invitational, falling 2-12.
Thomas More University has started off their season 4-3 facing off against Emmanuel University (Ga.) Kentucky State and West Virginia Wesleyan College. The Warriors and Saints in our recorded history have not faced off against each other.
Notre Dame College has started their season 0-4 facing off against Mercyhurst University, the University of Indianapolis, and Lake Erie College.
WARRIOR NOTABLES
Head coach Seth Wing is in his second season at Winona State, having previously served as athletic director and baseball coach at Cornell College.
Wing was an associate head coach during WSU's last World Series appearance in 2011.
Winona State first fielded an intercollegiate baseball team in 1919.
