Peter Tveite earns NSIC Pitcher of the Week

BURNSVILLE, Minn. - Peter Tveite has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week after an outstanding performance for the Warriors throwing a perfect game in a series sweep against Bemidji State University.

Tveite, a senior from Lakeville, Minn., opened the contest with a pair of first-inning strikeouts, setting the table for a historic performance. Tveite would go on to retire all 21 BSU batters in order across the seven-inning affair.

Tveite became only the second player in Winona State history to pitch a perfect game, joining 2023 Winona State Hall of Fame inductee Lee Boettcher.

In 2024, Tveite has thrown 20 and 1/3 innings, spanning six different contests. He has allowed just 13 hits, notched 29 strikeouts and is holding opposing teams to a .186 batting average.

Winona State will continue NSIC play this weekend facing off against the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D. The Warriors and Marauders will begin their four-game series on Thursday, March 28 in a beginning at 1 p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Friday, March 29 at noon and finishing the weekend with a single game on Saturday, March 30 at noon.
