WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University baseball team earned a split on Saturday in their final two games of a four-game series against the University of Minnesota Crookston, falling in game one 4-2 but rebounding to win game two 11-10 against the Golden Eagles in extra innings. 
Game 1: UMC 4, Winona State 2 | Mason Trocke hit a home run and starter 
Pierce Gritzmaker pitched a solid five innings for the Warriors but the Golden Eagles were able to outlast WSU for the 4-2 win. UMC scored two runs in the fourth inning and added one more in the fifth to pull away from Winona State.
Game 2: Winona State 11, UMC 10 | WSU used a six-run seventh inning to climb back into the contest and then scored two runs in the bottom of the 12
th inning to secure the victory. 
Connor Weed and 
Alex Berreth both had doubles while 
Jack Funke added a triple to the Warrior offensive effort. WSU used nine pitchers in the game; 
Cameron Kramer had the start for the Warriors and 
Sawyer Hoffman earned the win. The WSU staff combined to strike out 17 UMC batters in the game.
