MANKATO, Minn. - The Winona State University baseball team will hit the road for a midweek doubleheader against Minnesota State, Mankato on Wednesday in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match-up. The Warriors and Mavericks will open play at Bowyer Field with a 1:30 p.m. first pitch.
Winona State (13-17, 10-10 NSIC) will compete against Minnesota State in a 7-inning/9-inning doubleheader format with both teams looking to keep pace in the NSIC postseason race.

WINONA STATE STORYLINES, heading into the series
The Warriors are 13-17 overall and 10-10 within the NSIC.
Cole Fuecker is batting .364 and leads the Warriors in hits (43) and runs (31), and home runs (4) to lead the Warriors.
On the mound, Peter Tveite leads WSU in innings pitched (33.0).
In addition to Tveite, three pitchers have met or surpassed 20 innings pitched; Cameron Kramer, Pierce Gritzmaker, and Kole Hinrichsen
Eight Warriors pitcher have at least one win under their belt this season.
Andrew Regner and Mason Beltrand have been credited with the only saves so far this season.
MINNESOTA STATE STORYLINES heading into the series
The Mavericks (18-11 overall, 14-5 NSIC) went 3-1 against Minot State in a recent four-game series.
Aidan Bryne is batting .387, with three home runs and 48 hits on the year to lead the Mavericks.
Three MSU pitchers have reached more than 20 innings-pitched; Spencer Wright (40.0), Louis Magers (29.2), Mitch Gutknecht (27.2), and Cale Haugen (23.0)

Head coach Seth Wing is in his second season at Winona State, having previously served as athletic director and baseball coach at Cornell College.
Wing was an associate head coach during WSU's last World Series appearance in 2011.
Winona State first fielded an intercollegiate baseball team in 1919.
