WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University baseball team was victorious in the first two games of a three game series against Wayne State, collecting a 6-1 and 9-5 wins over the Wildcats.
Winona State scored the first two runs in game one against Wayne State and scored again in the sixth inning to secure the win. In game two, WSC was the first to score, but the Warriors were able to have three big offensive innings against the Wildcats.

Peter Tveite went the full seven innings, yielding four hits and only allowing one runs, which was earned. The Warriors' bats came in hot in the first and third inning collecting two runs in the first and four runs in the third with hits coming from

Jess Ondell, and
Mason Trocke,
The WSU defense was behind Tveite through out the game keeping the Wildcats to one run with multiple opportunities to score.
Game 2 : Wayne State 5, Winona State 9 | Wayne State was first to put a run on the board after a scoreless first inning, but WSU was able to respond back in the bottom of the third and continue to respond back in the fourth, fifth, seventh, and eighth innings with eight more runs to lock in win two of the day.

Kole Hinrichsen threw six full inning for the Warriors to collect the win in the record book for Winona State.
Mason Beltrand collected two full innings on the mound and
Chandler Schmidt collected one full inning. Schmidt closed out game two with three strikeouts and only allowed one hit to seal the deal for the win.
At the plate, Weed, Funke, Trocke, and
Joshua Hawksford went 2-for-4 and Ondell and Berreth went 3-for-4. Funke, Berreth, and Ondell all went yard with a homerun a piece in the nightcap of the two game series. All the Warriors at bats were key in getting their win after the Wildcats tied the game up at four runs apiece in the top of the seventh.
Winona State (21-27, 18-20 NSIC) will wrap up the regular season with their final game of the regular season against Wayne State, with first pitch set for 1pm.
