WINONA STATE FALLS 3-0 ON THE ROAD AGAINST MINNESOTA STATE

WINONA, Minn. – Warrior volleyball fell 3-0 at #25 Minnesota State by scores of 25-12, 25-23, and 25-16.

WSU volleyball struggled to slow down the Maverick offense as Minnesota State hit 0.311 on the match and outplayed the Warriors in every statistical category.

How it Happened:
MSU started the match out hot taking a lead as large as 19-8. This commanding lead was too much to overcome for the Warriors as they would ultimately lose the set 25-12.

In the second set, the match was neck and neck with the score being tied 6-6. The Mavericks would slowly take a larger lead as the set went on getting as high as 17-12. The Warriors showed resilience and tied the match at 19. Back and forth action led to a narrow MSU victory in set two, 25-23.

It was all Minnesota State in the third set as they allowed just nine Winona State kills and held the Warriors to a .075 hitting percentage while hitting .289 for themselves. WSU took away any breath that the Warriors could catch winning the set 25-16.
