WINONA, Minn. – Winona State men's and women's golf are set to travel to Edmond, Okla. for their respected Skip Wagon and Grace Shin Invitationals on October 6-7.
There will be 19 women's teams competing in the Grace Shin Invitational at the Golf Club of Edmond. There will be 18 men's teams competing in the Skip Wagon Invitational at the Kicking Bird Golf Club. Both invites are two-day events and are scheduled to start on Monday, October 6th and conclude on Tuesday, October 7th.
Women's Golf Notes:
- Winona State is coming off a third-place finish at their home Jewel Invitational.
- Megan Young was the Warriors top golfer at the Jewel invite, finishing eighth individually.
- Kelby Anderson is top five in the NSIC for individual scores (76.2) after six rounds.
- Lindsey Lund is tied for fifth in the NSIC for the lowest round this season with a 71 at the Central Region Fall Preview during her second round.
- Winona State is second in the NSIC for average team score (308.2), slightly behind Minnesota State-Mankato (300.0).
Men's Golf Notes:
- WSU have dominated the playing field this season, racking up back-to-back first place finishes as the Maverick Invitational and Jewel Invitational.
- Peyton Coahran and Luke Maas were the Warriors top golfers, finishing a stunning first and second place, respectively.
- Coahran was voted NSIC golfer of the week for two consecutive weeks.
- Winona State holds the top four individual average scores with Coahran and Maas leading the way, followed closely by Javier Ramos Casariego and Tyler Gandrud.
- Winona State is first in the NSIC with an average team score of 275.2, followed by Sioux Falls in second place (284.5).
