WINONA, Minn. – WSU volleyball fell 3-0 versus #10 Concordia-St. Paul by scores of 25-12, 25-14, and 25-17.
Winona State could not slow down the Golden Bear offense as CSP hit .291 on the match committing 13 attack errors to sweep the Warriors.
How it Happened:
CSP and WSU kept a competitive match for the first half of the first set, with big kills from both teams, the score was 15-12. The Golden Bears would go on a rampage, scoring the next 10 points and winning the set 25-12.
In the second set, the CSP offense dominated that of the Warriors with a hitting percentage of .306 and 14 kills, doubling Winona State. There was no slowing down for Concordia-St. Paul as they would win the set 25-14.
It was utter dominance in the third and final set from the Golden Bears and a defensive master class, holding the Warriors to a season low hitting percentage (-0.034) and eight attack errors. They would win the final set 25-17.
Statistical Comparison:
- WSU hit .024 on the match with 20 kills on 85 attempts with 18 errors.
- CSP hit .291 with 43 kills on 103 attempts and 13 errors.
- Concordia-St. Paul collected four blocks compared to WSU's five.
