WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University women's tennis team is set to travel to Bismarck, North Dakota, for a pair of matches against the University of Mary and Minnesota State University Moorhead. The Warriors will face the University of Mary on Saturday, February 22, at 1 p.m., followed by a contest against Minnesota State Moorhead on Sunday, February 23, at 9 a.m.
The University of Mary opened its season on February 2 with a 4-3 loss to Gustavus Adolphus College, while MSU Moorhead is 1-1 this spring, having played both Gustavus Adolphus and Concordia (Minn.).
Winona State enters the weekend with momentum after a hard-fought 4-3 victory over St. Cloud State University. The Warriors swept the doubles competition, securing wins at the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 positions. In singles play, Lainy Ristau battled through two close sets to win at No. 2 singles, while Clara Thoemke also earned a victory at No. 3 singles. Freshman Nikita Agrawal sealed the win for Winona State with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 performance at No. 5 singles.
Starting the spring season with a 1-0 record, the Warriors look to carry their winning streak into this weekend's matches.
