DULUTH, Minn. – The Winona State University tennis team defeated Minnesota Duluth 5-2 to cap off an undefeated weekend.
The Warriors move to 6-8 overall and 2-2 within the NSIC after the win over the Bulldogs.
WSU captured the doubles point by winning No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Halle Rosentreter and
Lainy Ristau won 6-2 at the top doubles spot and
Miranda Daulong and
Elysia Beynon pulled out a nailbiter at second doubles, winning 7-6.
Ristau finished her weekend with a perfect 4-0 record by winning 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.
Clara Thoemke rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles.
Alexandra Madjun and
Nikita Agrawal picked up convincing wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles to give WSU the 5-2 victory.
Winona State will travel to Sioux Falls, SD next weekend to face Sioux Falls and Augustana.
